Hello!
We are very pleased to explain what Movement and body expression workshop sessions consist of. Are you ready?
We always begin the class by placing ourselves in a circle and we do a “warm-up” of the body, that will help us know each of its parts: head, arms, legs, shoulders, etc.; as well as the possibilities of movement of each one. Sometimes, to warm up the body, we listen to a song that gives us a series of commands (touch the head, the nose, sit down, stand up…). This gets us ready for the main activity or game!
In this session, we work on the different ways that we can get around, like walking, jumping, running or imitating an animal (flying, tiptoeing, swimming). Since we are in the garden, we can play different outdoor games. It’s a lot of fun!
Sometimes we make circuits with different materials and also, we make the most of the space we have in our garden. We really like it!
We also play games and, through them, we learn to listen, follow the rules and respect them as well as respecting our classmates. Besides, we can also improve our movement skills.
Finally, we sit in a circle with our heads down and try to relax. Although it is very difficult to sit still, we try to listen to the wind, the birds or what our imagination suggests. By relaxing, they cool down so they are ready, fresh and focused for the next class.
