Both shows were exactly what we were waiting for. Actually we had a very good time.

As the company says, we can learn English through musical theatre, in a playful, entertaining and effective way. Besides, children can sing, laugh and above all participate spontaneously.

 All this is important, but without forgetting the quality of the content and the message of the work and showing positive values for our children.

These shows are 100% in English and are specifically created and adapted to the different stages, levels and interests of the students. Their actors and actresses are trained in musical theatre and are native or of a level equivalent to native.

The two shows were:

P4 SHOW: “PINOCCHIO”

This story is a modern, interactive and musical version of Pinocchio, where children will learn to recycle and the importance of helping others and working as a team. They will also realize that it is good to listen to their parents and that they have to work hard to get the things they want.

P5 SHOW: “PUFF- THE MAGIC DRAGON”

It is an endearing story between a Dragon, called Puff, and his friend Jack. They have a great time until the pirate Mary Read interrupts them. And then….

The story also deals with topics such as loneliness, friendship between very different beings, perseverance, the importance of taking care of each other and having physical well-being with an active life.

We were very excited to see the show: “Will it surprise us as always?”

The Blue Mango Company employs professional actors. They come from English-speaking countries and they offer a great theatre experience to non-native spectators.

They offer works adapted to the different stages, levels and interests of the students. But what is really important is that there are always puppets, songs and a lot of comedy for us to enjoy.

The two shows were:

P4 show: “THREE LITTLE PIGS”

This was the classic story of three little pigs.

Through music and comedy, we met three very different little pigs, Lucy, Ben and Tom, and their archenemy Wolfie Brown.

The vocabulary included clothing, colours, animals and parts of the house.

P5 show:“THE GINGERBREAD MAN”

When grandma cooked a gingerbread man, she didn’t expect it to come alive and escape. With this comic and interactive show, you were able to accompany the gingerbread man in an adventure where he tried to be more skilled than all the animals he encountered and who wanted to eat it.

They learnt the benefits of good manners and of being kind to those around you. Vocabulary included animals, food, cooking verbs, and body parts.

Our school and The Blue Mango Theatre Company have the same objective – to make learning English a fun, participatory and an enriching experience.

And we achieved it! One year more the children had sung, laughed and above all they had taken part spontaneously.

We met the flute, the trombone, the piano and how the music is at the service of the movement and the other way round.
