For some time now, fashion about screen use have been changing. One of the most recent changes is to focus on more motor, experimental, creative and experiential aspects of pre-school education. As a result, technology and its use is relegated to later stages such as Primary and Secondary.  

Sometimes the reality in a family can be different, so we propose a few TIPS for reconciling technology and family.

1. Parental supervision: Supervise the time and content of screens according to the age of the child.

2. Selection of programmes: Choose educational content and encourage family dialogue.

3. Encourage other activities: Prioritise reading, outdoor play and sport.

4. Disconnection at mealtimes: Avoid the use of screens during meals and school activities.

5. Bedtime routine: No screen use at least two hours before bedtime.

6. Adult role model: Parents should model a balanced use of screens, especially at family moments.

It is important to educate in the good use of technology; denying its existence is not an option in an educational context.  Sooner or later, our students, your children, will get to know it, either through friends or in other circumstances. And they have to be prepared to deal with it.  So, within our educational work, we have the responsibility to teach them about the benefits and harms of the use of technology, be it mobile phones, laptops, ipads or other media, which open up a wide, unknown and not always safe world to them.

La competència digital al Parvulari és un objectiu que es troba integrat ens els nostres projectes i en tots els espais d’aprenentatge. Les BEE-BOTS i els IPads són les eines que més utilitzar per arribar a acomplir aquest propòsit.

La BEE-BOT, un petit robot programable amb forma d’abella, és un dels recursos que tenim per començar a endinsar-nos en el món de la robòtica i la programació de manera senzilla i engrescadora pels més petits.

És un instrument perfecte per l’aprenentatge de seqüències, situació espacial, resolució de problemes i també, molt important, per aprendre jugant i gaudint. Aquests conceptes els treballem de  manera progressiva al llarg dels tres cursos de Parvulari.

Els infants de P3 comencen a treballar-ho a través del propi cos de forma molt viscuda i vivencial.

A partir de P4 continuen utilitzant la Bee-Bot per treballar, de manera divertida i creativa, conceptes relacionats amb l’espai i el temps. S’inicien en els  desplaçaments, treballant la lateralitat i la direccionalitat, entre altres.

En arribar a P5, els robots els permeten augmentar la complexitat d’aquests  desplaçaments, els quals són més llargs i  amb objectius més concrets.

Els IPads també són dispositius senzills d’utilitzar per tal de crear, ampliar o reforçar els aprenentatges. Amb ells poden cercar informació per dur a terme els diferents projectes o propostes dels racons. Així mateix, aquests ofereixen l’oportunitat als infants de treballar tant individualment com amb parelles o petits grups.

És essencial no oblidar el fet que la competència digital s’ha d’educar des de l’ètica del bon ús de tots aquests dispositius tecnològics mencionats anteriorment.
