Every morning is a new adventure filled with learning and fun activities for the little…

Every morning is a new adventure filled with learning and fun activities for the little ones. Breakfast not only provides the nutrients necessary for optimal physical and mental development but also establishes healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime. That’s why we want to highlight the importance of this first meal of the day and offer some creative ideas for your children to enjoy healthy and practical breakfasts while they’re at school.

One of the biggest challenges when preparing breakfast is avoiding children getting bored of eating the same thing every day. But don’t worry! With a little creativity and variety, we can turn breakfast time into an exciting and delicious moment for everyone.

Here are some ideas:

Lunchboxes with Fresh Fruit: How about starting the day with a burst of colours and flavours? Tupperware containers with fresh fruit are an excellent option for breakfast. You can cut different types of fruit into small pieces and place them in separate compartments so that children can mix and match according to their tastes. From sweet strawberries to juicy oranges, the possibilities are endless!

Creative Mini Sandwiches: Mini sandwiches are another fantastic alternative for breakfast. Try preparing small sandwiches with healthy ingredients like cheese or ham. You can even use cookie cutters with fun shapes to make breakfast even more exciting!Yoghurt with Toppings: Yoghurt is a versatile and nutritious option for breakfast. You can pack a small container of natural yogurt and include different toppings like granola, chopped fruit, or even a drizzle of honey. This allows children to have fun creating their own combinations while enjoying a healthy meal packed with calcium and protein.

Overnight Oats: For a quick and nutritious breakfast, overnight oats are a great solution. The night before, mix rolled oats with milk or a plant-based alternative, and let it sit in the fridge. In the morning, you can add toppings like fruit, seeds, or a spoonful of peanut butter for a tasty, fibre-packed start to the day.

Smoothies on the Go: Smoothies are a fun way to get children to consume a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. You can prepare a smoothie with yoghurt, a banana, and some berries, then pour it into a portable bottle. This makes it an easy and quick breakfast that can be consumed on the way to school.

Whole Grain Pancakes with Fruit: Whole grain pancakes are a delicious and nutritious option. You can make a batch of mini pancakes in advance and store them in the fridge. In the morning, you simply warm them up and serve them with fresh fruit like blueberries or banana slices. Add a small container of natural syrup or honey for dipping, and you’ll have a breakfast that’s fun and easy to eat!

It’s important to remember that the key to keeping children interested in breakfast is variety. Rotate different options throughout the week to ensure that your children never get bored of what they’re eating.

A nutritious breakfast is just the beginning of a day full of learning and fun! So, the next time you find yourself preparing breakfast for your child, remember the importance of offering variety and creativity in every bite. Start the day with energy and enjoy a morning full of smiles and special moments at the nursery!

P3 are the first ones to eat. They go to the lunchroom with their teachers and they learn how to eat with good manners. Once they finish, they go back to their classes where they take a nap.

Then, it’s time for P4 and P5. They come to the lunchroom and they wait to be served their food. But, before eating, we pray with Ainhoa and we also say what the menu of the day is. When we finish our food, we raise our hands so that our teacher knows we have finished. Then, we go to the playground to play with our friends. But before, we clean our hands thoroughly with water and soap.

We always try to eat everything, even though sometimes we don’t like the food. For all of us who have some allergies, we are served food that is suitable for us. We are all so thankful for the incredible chefs we have at the school who prepare us a well-balanced diet!

Do you want to know what P-3, P-4, and P-5 students do during lunch time?

First of all, when we arrive at the dining room we pray and we thank Jesus for the food. Leire always prays with us and tells us the menu of the day.

Then we sit properly and eat all the food using the cutlery. While we are eating, we emphasize good manners at the table, in a balanced diet and autonomy. We try a little bit of everything even if we don’t like it and we raise our hands when we finish so the teacher can see that we have eaten everything.

We are very lucky to have great chefs; they prepare our food and if someone does not feel very well or have any allergy, they adapt our menu.

Finally, we take off our bibs and we put them inside a bag. P-4 and P-5 students are capable of bringing the tray to the kitchen. We also have “helpers” from P-5 that help the teacher to bring the bibs to the classes.

When everyone has finished P-3 goes to sleep in their class and the rest of our students go to the playground!
